Your bare feet hit the woodsy ground as you run from the men and their dogs. They came to the land two months ago with a man called as you guess Christopher or Captain Columbus as they call him. This is only a guess because their tongues are alien to yours and they don't speak Arawak. If they did they would have known that Arawak's have our own culture and their own gods, but the strange men seem to put strange crosses around our necks and push us to a tent they have set up with an identical cross. They would also know that you didn't like it when they touched you. You don't like it when they rub your chest area and push you down putting themselves on top of you, but again they don't speak Arawak. You watched as Christopher took your people away on ships and the others like yourself were forced to find gold. You found some and wore this bronze piece of jewelry around your neck the others got their body parts hacked off. They then turned to the survivors and started to push some of the tribe on ships, so before they could get to you. You started running. You continue to hear barking dogs and men yelling in their alien tongues while you run as fast as you can. Your breasts jiggle around seeing as Arawak's barely wear clothes. With each step you take your anger rises. You were a peaceful and generous people who gave knowledge to these strange men, but they seem to claim the land for theirs which makes no sense to you. You have been taught by your chief that you cannot own the sky so how can you own the land, but the strange men seem to call it theirs by treating us as slaves. Arawak's don't disserve this treatment because we were generous to them to have them rape the tribe's women including you in return, so while Columbus was gone your chief and other warriors rebelled and killed the remaining, but they came back and spilt Arawak blood. Your only option is to run, but the dogs sound closer making your heart beat like how a fish swims while being chased by a bear. You continue running only to be tackled by a dog that begins to bite your skin until some of the strange men command "Deténgase". They pull you from the ground and drag your bleeding body onto the ship called Nina and close one of your only sources of light. The ship then starts to move on the ocean toward you guess where they came from.

(two months later)

Many of your people have died on the ship and you felt sorry for them, but as you stand on the entrance of the Nina with your legs that are not used to land anymore you wish you had died on the Nina. You stand there as men place bets on you with soldiers holding a strange weapon to your neck. Then they pull the blade from you putting it back in place and drag you to a man with green eyes and messy brown hair. You expect him to treat you as a slave to his manly urges. A sad life waits for all Arawaks who survived the journey from the home land to this land with a strange man who seems to smile at you sweetly. His smile is warm showing compassion, but you don't believe it at all. Three soldiers then bind your hands with rope and walk with the man speaking in their alien tongue so you turn another way. You walk through a large tomato field until you reach a large house "so this is where my findings go" you think to yourself as you enter through an arch. He continues talking to the soldier laughing and smiling like this is an every day occurrence. You continue to look around at the clay and brick large house while they talk it's a beautiful home for him and you start to wonder if other Arawak's went to a similar place. For you this is not a happy place for you this is where your eagle gets her wings pinned down. As they wave goodbye the green eyed man calls "Buenos tardes" and turns to you and smiles again. Taking your hand he can't help but babble in a language you don't understand taking you to a cranky looking child. "What-a took you so-a long stupido. I-a got lost going to the-a bathroom so I-a had an accident, and it's-a all your fault bastardo" He says pointing his finger and shaking it then pointing to the floor where there is a urine stain "oh he peed on the floor, are you supposed to pee on the floor in this country?" you ask yourself. For the first time the man frowns then smiles again saying "again Lovino awwww your so cute" he says attempting to pet his head, but the cranky child turns his head away saying "yeah yeah just-a clean it up cazzo bastardo or-a make the ragazza do it" he says turning and stomping away. "Is that how I am referred to?" you ask yourself once again not understanding anything they say. The green eyed man then looks at you again saying "you probably have no idea what we're saying, but don't worry I will teach you chica" he says with his signature smile then he unbinds your hands "you don't need to be bound. You'll need to have your hands Lovino has a lot of accidents" he says as you stare trying to look at the context and figure out what's going on. He then goes to get a floppy device and bucket then puts some soap in the bucket. Stirring it around he then takes out the floppy device he starts to clean up the urine stain. You feel a little sorry for him having to clean up a bad smelling urine stain in his expensive looking garments, so you tap him on the shoulder twice. "Si chica?" he asks looking up at you and in Arawak you ask "can I?" "I'm sorry I have no idea what you're saying chica" he says with a confused look. "He doesn't speak Arawak either" you realize then put your hand on the floppy device taking it from him then copying his movements. "Oh" he realizes as you clean the urine stain it was almost like he didn't expect you to clean the stain. You wondered why he didn't expect you to clean right away because isn't that what people in your position do? As you clean he stares at you in wonder like he was taking you in and accepting you. You then put the floppy device back in the bucket from the sky's colors. The floppy device with white braided hair turns the liquid yellow like the sun with a wispy cloud in front of it. "Muchas gracias chica" he says smiling like he was truly happy then he holds out a hand to you. You look at his hand having no idea what to do then he outstretches his hand and takes yours "it's ok you'll learn the customs eventually" he states still smiling then he leads you to a room. "This is your room chica. Thanks to the queen we knew the Indians would arrive today so I tried to make you feel as at home as I can" he says opening the door. Inside there are animal heads of bison, wolves, deer, and elk. This large rectangle was covered in buffalo hide which is were you would sleep back home. You sit on it letting the warmth of the former animal encompass you. You then wonder if the animals here were sent to the spirit world properly. If they weren't they would be doomed to gallop the earth for all eternity as a restless spirit. "Whats wrong chica?" says the man with messy brown hair. You look up at him with a sad face to meet his of concern. "He must have asked why I am sad" you think to yourself "or he is wondering what happened to my body". You instantly think of when those strange men whipped and beat you for not submitting to their manly desires. "This is the life before the spirit word where I will be happy with my people" you think again knowing he can't understand you. You shake your head no and look outside as night begins to fall on the green horizon. "What is the-a stupido ragazza looking at" says the little boy in the red colored dress. "Strange for a male to wear so much clothes" you think to yourself as he addresses you as ragazza again. "She just misses home amigo" the man answers patting the boys head and smiling "come on now off to bed Roma" he says taking the boys hand for the boy to make a mad face and pull his hand away. The boy runs to his room to trip and fall on his face halfway there making the man chuckle as the boy gets up crying a little and runs into his room. "Alright I better go see if he's ok, so Buenos noches" he says giving you a little wave which must mean goodbye because he then went to the boys room. You decided to watch as the boy opens the door and throws what looks like a pillow at the man as the boy yells "GO-A AWAY JERK BASTARD" then slams the door in his face. You can't help but laugh a little as you remember your little sister Jumping Lizard closed the tent in your face yelling "LEAVE ME ALONE (insert Native American name here)" after father had given your hands to marriage. You to the chief and Jumping Lizard to a poor weave spinner. Your face then saddens knowing you will never see your family or the chief again. You now must live as a slave never being married or to have children. You then turn back to the bed and sit again looking out the window as a condor flies past the vegetable garden. You lie in your animal hide bed and cry to sleep remembering your father and mother along with two younger sisters Jumping Lizard and Clucking Hen.

(time skip)

It's hard labor pulling and planting tomatoes, taking care of horses, bulls, cows, chickens, cleaning up after the boy (whom you now know is named Lovino) when he breaks something or has an accident, sowing clothes, and cleaning rooms. What is strange is you are never cooking and when you would mess up you wouldn't be hit but patted on the back as he says "it's ok". You still avoid messing up especially when the woman in the dress and loud voice comes around. She yells at him for not hitting you and Lovino even though it's good he doesn't because you don't want to be hit. He would cringe repeating "lo siento" over and over again, but she would ignore him and begin hitting him and slapping him until her anger had had it's full. You always wonder if it's her time of the red river when she comes. The man you now know as Antonio would always push it aside and put on a happy smile as wide as a canyon for you and Lovino. You try to smile and be strong like a bear, but you just can't seem to especially after turning the corner and seeing the woman hitting him again. "They would respect you if you hit them like this!" she yells then taking her hand off her hip she slaps him across the face making his messy brown hair swing with his face as it jerks to the side. She then stamps her foot making him cringe then with a huff she stomps back to her carriage. Antonio slides down the wall and puts his arms and head on his knees. For the first time he looked sad and scared. Creeping around the corner you take slow and cautious steps toward Antonio until you have gotten to him undetected. Then leaning down to his level you ask "Estas bien? making him look up at you and smile "very good chica. You speak very good Spanish. I'm ok I promise" he answers as a crash could be heard from the library where Lovino was dusting making Antonio chuckle. "It sounds like something got knocked over amiga let's go help" he says standing up. You nod yes and follow him to where Lovino knocked over a table and sits on the floor crying. "Awwww it's ok Lovi" Antonio says reaching to pet his hair to receive a slap on the hand from Lovino "go-a away bastardo" Lovino whines putting his head back on his arms. You put your hand on his small shoulder and lean next to him "don't cry like wolf to moon look up and see sky spirit look back" you advise making him look up confused. "What the-a hell is the-a sky spirit ragazza" he asks once again calling you ragazza. "The sky spirit is the controller of all weather and of paradise" you inform as he begins to stop crying. "Like a god" he asks confused "yes the sky spirit is like a god because they are wise and strong" you explain as he stops crying. Antonio turns the table back the right way then picks Lovino up and takes him to his own room. You quietly start walking to your room for your turn to sleep when Antonio hugs you from behind "gracias chicka for helping me with Lovi" he says squeezing you and resting his head on your back. You grow a little warm and surprised that he is hugging you. You don't hug much in your culture unless they are family or spouse, but you discover you like this and begin to snuggle into it when he lets you go as he walks to his room making you a little sad.

(the next day)

"Wake-a up ragazza" Lovino says hopping onto your bed and shaking you. You're eyes open slowly to meet the eyes of the boy jumping on your bed. "Estoy despierto" you state sitting up in bed and rubbing your eye. Lovino shrugs and runs out of your room not understanding the Spanish you can speak. You get up from your buffalo hide bed stretching your soar muscles and yawning. Putting on your dress that has been uniformed for you by Antonio then walk out to the tomato garden. You grab the water pail and sigh at once again having to water the entire tomato garden which is four miles wide and six miles long. The sun isn't completely over the hill yet making the ground turn a beautiful orange to match the sky. As the sun rises it seems to put weight on your back and you begin to trudge around tired, hot, sweating, and sleepy. You didn't sleep much last night because of your newly found nightmares of those men speaking Spanish, their dogs with large arrow point teeth, and your people getting killed. Unfortunately that takes a toll on your work. You are almost falling over as you get to the last couple of plants and pause to stretch out your back when a bull threatens to come out of the barn. You huff cursing at the bull in Arawak and begin pulling it by the horn back into the barn. "Necisita ayuda hermosa?" Antonio asks grabbing the other horn and pulling the bull into his corral. Getting him all the way in the corral the two of you run to the gate to close it and Antonio gets behind you wrapping his arms around you making you blush a little as he helps you close the gate. "Did you eat poison berry?" you ask a little confused "no my cute little indian" he responds kissing your cheek. "You are scaring me a little" you inform wondering where this came from. "Don't be scared my little indian although you seem more embarrassed that you resemble one of my tomatos" he purrs turning you around and rubbing his thumb against your cheek making you turn red. "I am not an Indian I am an Arawak" you inform trying to change the subject out of your own nervousness. He puts his forehead against yours "don't be nervous my Arawak" then touches his lips to yours then separating "I'm happy I bought you off that ship" he purrs kissing you again this time longer. You wrap your arms around him playing with his hair as you begin to enjoy it. He then separates from you again picking you up off the ground. "Now you will be mine in a different way Hermosa" he says with a bit of a smirk on his face. You wonder what that smirk means as he begins to carry you back to the house. "The sky spirit must be looking back at me now" you think to yourself as you look up to the sky as you find the end of the Arawak blues coming. Your eagle wings feel free again, but instead of fly off you decide to wrap them around him. You want to tell him you actually love him, but unfortunately he doesn't speak Arawak.

*Screaming* Omfg I love the idea of this so so so very much! As in I legit just saw the word 'Arawak' and I started freaking, and it's done well too! I just have one question and it doesn't really matter much I'm just curious.

Where is the setting of the story because what I learned in History in third form is that while there was in fact a group of indigenous peoples known as the Arawaks, there is a common misconception in terms of this group and the indigenous groups of the Caribbean. In the Caribbean there were two groups, Tainoes and Kalignadoes and they SPOKE an Arawak dialect (is that the right term idk ^-^''). Just wondering it this was the group you were writing about or naw. It doesn't really matter cause most people here use the terms intechangebly for like Taino and Arawak =D
